KM714 Combo Universal Receiver "Device Status: Inactive"

Hi,

I have two KM714 & Mouse combo sets - one for work, one for home. I've used the Universal Receiver Control Panel to link both to my work laptop (using it at home and at work) and I have linked my home computer to the keyboard set I have at home.

The idea is that the keyboard set at home will connect to either my work laptop or my home computer, depending on which one is turned on. I have success connecting my work laptop this way - it will connect to either keyboard, no problem.

However, my home computer won't automatically connect to my home keyboard set any longer. When I open up the Dell Universal Receiver Control Panel I can see the device listed but marked as 'inactive'. When I try to re-link it (turn keyboard off, hold down any key, turn keyboard on) the control panel tells me that the device is already linked. That's great, but how to I make it 'active'. The only way seems to be to 'remove device' and then add it back in.

Is there no way around this? I'd love some wisdom on this please. Am I trying to do the impossible?

Thanks a lot,

Oli

I am having this exact same issue with a keyboard / mouse that I just bought. Can you make the solution public?

Actually my problem is for a single computer. I am using the keyboard / mouse on an HP laptop and both devices show "inactive" in the universal receiver control panel. I have tried removing and re-pairing and no change.

Hi , I am facing the same problem in my WM126 mouse , i newly bought last week.

I'm trying to use the WM but it's not working but the Dell Universal Receiver says that mouse remains inactive.

How to activate it ?

Thanks
