Latitude 3420, broken hinge

So, after just over 1nd half years of use, my the left hinge has broken on my Dell Latitude 3420. After reading all these comments, i got to know that broken hinges on various Dell models are common, including Latitude. I've not been heavy handed in the slightest with laptop. I refuse point blank to pay for a repair that is Dells responsibility to rectify .
