I am trying to use MAC pass-through on this laptop to connect to a VisionTek VT2500 USB-C docking station. Tried all 3 settings in BIOS:
System Unique MAC address
Integrated NIC 1 MAC address
Disabled
It does not use the internal NIC MAC address with any of the settings or the pass-through address listed in the BIOS. VisionTek states it is MAC pass-through capable. I tried chat and then e-mail with them, but nothing yet. Is there something else I need to set in the BIOS on this laptop? The BIOS version is the latest. I have the internal NIC registered in DHCP, so I was hoping to use MAC pass-through with the docking station.

I figured out a way around it. I set the MAC pass-through address in the BIOS as the Integrated NIC 1 MAC address. In Windows, I configured the additional ethernet adapter from the docking station to use the internal MAC address :
Open network connections -> Right click on Docking NIC -> Properties -> Configure…
Choose Advanced tab -> Network address -> Type your MAC address of Internal NIC then reboot your system.
I have 13 of the 5511 laptops and I made the change on several and tried with multiple VT2500 docking stations. It kept the internal MAC address even when switching docking stations.
This has been solved.
