Latitude 5580 WINDOWS 11

@DELL-Cares

Dell should make DCH drivers for this model and add win11 support since its definitely working fine with WIN11

System  Latitude 5580 with PCI-E M2 Storage,  16 Gigs of ram,  Core I7 7820HQ, PC Health Check says Everything is Ok EXCEPT CPU.   WhynotWIN11 says 100 percent compatible.

Had to use Rufus and WIN11 iso to make WIN11 installer that works.

Says NO due to 7th Gen CPU

WhyNotWin117820HK doesn't support vPro, Trusted Execution Test and  Stable Image Platform Program (SIPP)
whereas 7820HQ Does / Surface Studio 2

Microsoft did identify a set of PC models aka their OWN that work for WIN11 using Intel 7th Gen processors that were not originally included minimum system requirements.  Based on those findings, expanded list of compatible 64-bit processors to include the following:

Intel® Core™ X-series, Xeon® W-series
Intel® Core™ 7820HQ

(only select devices shipped (DCH) drivers, eg Surface Studio 2)

Any chance to make win11 possible in a normal way? Why the processor is a problem?

Hi, I'm using the 5580 i5-7300U and currently  daily driving it within M Insider Program;

This computer is a temporary one but, what a surprise when I opened it and found that you either use M.2 with 250 SSD or buy a Jsata and forget about your M.2... I'll build my desktop in 2 months, it's easy to to do;

But my question is what can you do with a 250go hard drive... question rhétoque as we say in France.

Good luck!

What about this issue. Any news here. Any workaround? Just updating to Win11 manually however? Nothing from Dell side - any help? ???
