Latitude 7275 charging

Hi,

I own the following 2 USB-C laptop chargers:

I previously used a Latitude 7285, and it charged using both chargers.

I have recently started using a Latitude 7275, and it only charges using the Satechi charger which is 60W for USB-C. I am confused as to why this happens, as the Dell User Manual says that the 7275 ships with a 30W USB-C charger - yet it doesn’t charge with my 45W charger, only the 60W charger.

Does anyone know why this might be happening? All tips, hints, advice and tricks etc. would be greatly appreciated!

The 30W Dell OEM USB-C charger is rated at 20V @ 1.5A or 5V @ 2A or 12V @ 2A.

Power Delivery devices negotiate. The Satechi is able to provide what the 7275 needs.

The Satechi specs : Output (USB-C PD): 60W max, 5V3A, 9V3A, 15V3A, 18V3A, 20V3A

Belkin does not provide the specs for the device you bought. It just says 45W. No further info.

I found the above link on the Belkin website, which is a FAQ for the model charger I have, and it states that the maximum outputs of the Belkin 45W USB-C charger are: "5V, 3A".

The Satechi is also 5V, 3A - so unsure as to why the Belkin doesn't work

Good question. But it may be that the Dell laptop wants 20V at 2A which the Belkin does not have. Just a guess.   .
