Latitude 7480 replacement battery not recognized

Question

I've replaced the battery and cable on my Latitude 7480. I'm still getting 'No battery presently. I've run diagnostics through bios and un-installed and reinstalled it through the control panel. I am at wit's end and would appreciate any help.

Is the replacement battery a genuine Dell OEM battery? If not then that could be the source of the problem.

@JOcean​ Battery and cable are OEM purchased directly from the Dell website.

Was the issue with the original battery the same -- failure to be recognized?

@ejn63​ Unfortunately, the original battery swelled up enough that it actually separated the case. So I decided to replace it. The original still works. The new OEM battery is the same model.

@LatitudeBat7​  Check the connector for the battery and the mainboard area surrounding it -- is it completely flat or is the connector (or the board) warped at all?

@ejn63​ the original battery us recognized. I can plug that in just fine and it works (if we exclude the swelling)

Contact Dell to have the defective new battery replaced.
