Latitude 7490 and TB16 display issues?

Hello All,

I have a few users who are having weird issues with the TB16 and latitude 7490, both users have 2 displays and when they step away for a good 15-20 min and come back, it seems that 1 of the displays cuts out and windows only detects 1 external monitor being plugged in.

Only resolution is to pull the display cable and plug it back in, these are high profile users so it's not an acceptable resolution.

all windows updates, tb16, and 7490 drivers are up-to-date as i write this post, but still seems to be happening.

We do have a GPO in our domain that controls power settings, 1 being to turn off the displays after 10 minutes, but we cannot turn this off due to compliance (so im told) also i've never seen that setting fail to wake up monitors when coming back.

any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

thank you!

It's awful. Constant flickering or screen blanking when scrolling or watching video. Good thing I'm not susceptible to seizures.

I've updated the TB16 and Lat7480 to the latest drivers and firmware. With little if any improvement. Support calls to Dell are painful (first lets reload OS...) so I avoid them.

I've got a 7480 with a i7-7660U, a TB16 dock, a 2560x1440 internal display and a 3440x1440 external (dell) display.
