@MikeGH

Yes the "Microsoft Basic Display" will be "Intel HD Graphics" after we find the correct driver and possible sequence to install it.

Try to install this driver.

@MikeGH  The driver link provided by ieee488 above is for even older CPUs and integrated GPUs than the one in your system.  Here is the one meant for the Core 5th Gen CPUs actually in your system.  However, be aware that Intel Graphics drivers obtained directly from Intel don't always install on laptops.  They sometimes throw an error saying to obtain them from your laptop manufacturer.  But I just checked the Dell Support page for the E6410, and it only has drivers for Windows 7 and earlier.  So the one above is likely your best shot.  If you encounter that error, you can typically force the drivers to install using the Device Manager "Have Disk" function.  I can provide more details about that if you actually encounter the error and Googling that term doesn't surface a guide for you to follow.

Thank you. You have given me hope. I'm just finishing up some work I must get finished and then I will try that and get back to you and let you know how it goes. Thanks so much.

Thanks but I tried that last night. Ran the support assistant, nothing found. I downloaded a few drivers manually that I thought might work based on their dates but I got a message on all of them saying my computer isn't new enough for the drivers - or words to that effect.

Thanks though.

This computer does not meet the minimum requirements...

Got that message for both of the drivers you guys gave me.

Am I on the right track?

I'll be back later. I've been working on this for about 20 hours straight with a brief sleep break. I need a beer.

Thanks to both of you for your help. I really appreciate it.

I only found one unknown device. These are images of it. Note image 4. That's the day of the Win 10 update.

@MikeGH  The monitor is separate from the GPU.  You should have something under Display Adapters.  If not, then you should have something under Other/Unknown Devices.  It wouldn't make sense for you to not have a display adapter device at all.

There is the video controller too under "Other Devices".

Reinstall the drivers for this device. (Code 18)

To reinstall the drivers for this device, click Reinstall Driver.

Okay but the only place I have a driver listed at all is under Monitors - Generic PnP Monitor. That would be my Latitude display I guess and I don't want to mess that up. It has a place to update the driver. Do I do that there?

@MikeGH  From the page I linked, download the ZIP file version, not the EXE.  Extract the contents of the zip to a folder.  Open Device Manager, open Display Adapters, select whatever device is listed for your GPU currently, and go to Driver > Update Driver.  Click "Browse my computer for driver software", then click "Let me pick".  Then click Have Disk, browse to the folder where you extracted the zip file, open the Graphics subfolder, and choose the only INF file you'll see in there.  Back in the list of drivers that will now appear, select the GPU corresponding to what's built into your CPU.  If you're not sure, go to ark.intel.com and find the specs of your exact CPU to see what GPU chipset it has.  Then proceed through the wizard.

Finally, if your system has an Intel Display Audio device in Device Manager under the "Sound, video, and game controllers" category, repeat the process above for that, but browse into the DisplayAudio subfolder instead of the Graphics folder for that.

@MikeGH  The Video Controller is the device you want to go for.  As for the Unknown Device, if you go to that, select Advanced, change the dropdown to "Hardware IDs", and post the PCI VEN and DEV codes, which will be 4 characters each, it might be possible to identify what that is.
