Latitude E6430s Firmware Update Failed

Question

Appreciate any help updating the BIOS of my Latitude E6430s. It's currently on version A10 and with each attempt, it will go thru the regular routine of inspecting the current firmware and ask if i want to execute the BIOS update procedure. Once I accept, it prepares to update and then restarts the laptop. However, upon restart it does not continue with the firmware update but boots to Windows instead. I've read similar entries in these forums but none of the suggestions seem to work for me:

I've tried the following so far:

1. In Windows 10, executing the 6430SAxx.exe (I've tried versions A10, A11, A15, and the latest A21) with Administrator privileges

2. Outside of Windows, via bootable MS-DOS, executing the same BIOS files

3. Detached all peripherals, battery, power plug, CMOS battery and hold down power button for 2 minutes. Re-attach everything and retry BIOS update via MS-DOS

Is there a recognized, at least 50% charged battery in the system and a recognized AC adapter connected (F2 at powerup to check whether or not the AC adapter is recognized)?

The issue may be Windows 10, which the system was never designed to support. There are ways to make a flash drive that will boot an older version of Windows (one video link below on the "how". Try using an older version of Windows (or even DOS, if the flash will run under it) and installing from there.

Thanks again @ejn63 for the reply. I used a bootable USB to get into MS-DOS (rufus) for item #2 in my 1st post and it didn't work as well. This doesn't seem to be a Windows 10 issue because of that.
