Latitude E6540 Upgrade to 20H2
I'm trying to update 2 Latitude E6540's both with W10 1909 to 20H2, both systems hang at 48% after the initial reboot. I am sure this is driver related, but not sure what can be done to get by this issue. The setup diag tool reports:
Error: Found a device installation failure during device install phase.
Device Installation failure detected!
Device Description: *PNP0C04 [NO_DRV_X]
HardwareId: ACPI\PNP0C04\4&1a5b7ca9&0
Inf Name: machine.inf
Driver Version: 10.0.19041.1
"PNP0C04" seems to indicate the issue is with the numeric data processor driver, but there are no available updates for any drivers on either system.
Anyone have any suggestions what could be a potential solution?

I am having the exact same issue. Microsoft told me its because the BIOS id pre 2020, but as indicated last update A27 was Dec 2019. I have tried in vain looking for some updated for the Numeric Data Processor, but everything I have found won't install. My machine still works extremely well, is in good shape, and generally is still my primary machine. It's to good to throw out just to get something that runs the latest version of windows. There has to be a way !
Anyone with any thoughts at all ?
