New 7490 + TB16 + Skype for Business = BSOD in asmtxhci.sys

Like so many others, I am getting crashes with the TB16 connected to my brand new 7490. For the most part, it is stable -except- if I start Skype for Business (necessary at my company). Regardless of whether the audio modules are disabled, no Ethernet, etc., I get an immediate BSOD if I start Skype for Business. Disconnect the TB16, everything is fine. I have reinstalled the TBolt driver, firmware, ASM driver (10.16.50.1), Realtek audio and Ethernet drivers with no improvement. My preferred configuration would be to have a headset connected to the dock, 2 monitors (1 HDMI, 1 DP) and a Logitech Unity receiver. Dell, please continue working with AS Media to resolve these issues.

The recently released 1.16.56.1 ASMedia driver fixes the Skype BSOD issue for me.

@dwodwo thank you for pointing that out. The new driver can be found here.

Thank you to the community for the discussion and all the feedback.

I'm having the same issue with the Precision 3520 and the TB16 and TB19 as well.  I had to do more than just unplug the headset.  The headset itself needed to be disconnected from power for 30 seconds then plugged back in.  Hoping to find a fix since my company just bought 100 of these headsets

New 7530 having issues when Jabra headset is plugged into the TB - K16A docking station.  Skype for Bus will loose access to the microphone.  Only happens when connected  to the ThunderBolt docking station.  I have not seen the BSOD except for when I deleted the drivers for the docking station to load the new ones.  The new drivers still have the mic drop issue in Skype.  Never had this issue with the old tried and true multipin-snap in - docking stations.  I have also tried different Jabra headset units and still has the same issue.
