Are there any status lights or beep codes when you try to power on? LED light patterns or audible beep codes can give a clearer idea of where the system senses an error.
Disconnect all peripherals: printers; USB devices; media cards; USB hubs and extenders; etc.
Disconnect the AC adapter.
Disconnect the battery.
Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds to discharge any residual electricity.
Reconnect the AC adapter
Reboot the laptop.
If that works, then you may repeat steps 1-4, reconnect the battery, then try to boot again.
Do you have a genuine Dell AC adapter?
Is the light on the plug lit?
Does it stay lit when you plug the adapter into the laptop's jack?
Try another genuine Dell AC adapter of at least the same amperage. Does it power your laptop?
Try your genuine Dell AC adapter in another Dell laptop. Does it work? Is it recognized in BIOS?
