Paint rubbed off on my Latitude E6420
I have been using my laptop for over 3 years, but the BIOS states it was manufactured 2012. I got it refurbished. The paint has completely rubbed off in one area, and I am not sure how it happened or how to cover it back up. Is it necessary to have the weird sticky paint? I have attached an image.

Given that the system is between 11-12 years old, it's simple wear and tear.
You can either cover it with a sticker, Con-tact, etc. or replace the palmrest. Before buying parts, compare the cost of a newer system -- this one doesn't have much value in it, and you can likely find one several years newer for little cost.
$20 or so to replace the base assembly.

Thank you! I set you as the solution, and I do think I might either try a replacement or a sticker. It's more fun to tinker with it for me than it would be to buy a new one.
