Replacement dock for Latitude 7490?
I've been using a Dell Thunderbolt dock to support my Latitude 7490, driving two monitors, making a USB 3.0 connection to an external hard drive, plus a conventional USB 2.0 hub to plug in more peripherals, including Logitech dongles for wireless keyboard and mouse. However, the dock has become increasingly wonky regarding its USB ports -- the legacy 2.0 ports work rarely, and one of the 3.0 ports will sometimes "lose" its connection to an external hub (which can be restored by unplugging the hub, then plugging back in). I bought the Thunderbolt dock used on eBay (the second -- the first was defective and barely worked, and was returned), so I'm not going to buy another used one, but I found a brand new one here for $46 (not including power supply, which I already have). From reviewing comments in various forums, this Dell dock was highly problematic, but I'm hoping a new one will last for a few years? I realize the 7490 is practically obsolete, but mine has the Intel i7 processor, 16 gb of RAM and a 1 TB SSD, so it meets my needs. Should I try the new Dell dock, or look for something else? I really don't want to spend much money.

For the price of the replacement dock it may be worth a shot in purchasing.
