Resolution needed.
Latitude 5410
Latitude 5410, Windows 10 Pro
Graphics: Integrated (FHD ?)
CPU: 10310U
This PC was sold to me as having a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080. It currently shows as 1366 x 768 (Recommended); that's the highest it goes. I did install the most recent Dell driver for it but it did not change anything. I re-installed the same driver in Admin mode with all AV/security off with no change. Many 'diagnostic' utilities say it has the Full HD so is something blocking the driver install's ability to extend the resolution ?

Go into setup (F2 at powerup). The screen type and resolution will be listed. If you see HD, 1366X768 is the best you can do.
If the system was purchased used, contact your seller to resolve the discrepancy.

You gave the same answer years ago. I was just about to follow up my post to say my system's "Original Configuration" did indeed show the HD display @ 1366 x 768. I guess they chose to down-class for some reason.
There is mention of a purchased option for getting the Intel UHD 620 with Display Port over Type-C for this processor (i5 10310U). Can you define what that means for a lay man ?

It's the optional Thunderbolt port for video out and charging over USB. Either the system has a USB-C port or it doesn't (it's now pretty much omnipresent other than on the very lowest 3000 series model Latitude/Inspiron/Vostro, but would not have been when the 5410 was new a few years ago).

Yes, it has it. And thankyou for the definitive clarification on what I bought. My takeaway is, though I have the UHD 620 (and not the HD 620), I'm limited to 1366 x 768 because of the panel installed. I would probably be able to get 1080 if I had a 'higher' native-resolution panel *or* if I attached the system via thunderbolt port to a capable external monitor. I gather that I would need some sort of an adapter/cord of usb to hdmi to possibly get it to work. Thanks again, Bill

Yes, the system will drive an FHD panel -- but be extremely careful buying one as you may well find you need more than just the panel (you will commonly need a new video cable and given the myriad options on these systems, finding the right one can be challenging). You can also attach an external monitor either by USB-C if you have the Thunderbolt port or over HDMI and obtain a higher resolution image as well.

Thanks for the caveat. Will settle for what I have at the moment and try the external monitor if required. May be easier on the eyes. Forgot I could just use the system's HDMI port if required; really is a good machine. Appreciate all the 'sound' advice. Bill
