screen replacement Dell Latitude 5490

hello my fellow Dell users!

recently I was lucky enough to get my hands on a Latitude 5490, am so happy that i did.

however, i bought it of someone close. if I fill the servicetag number into the warranty page. i see that i have some years left.

the model i bought has a 1366x768 screen, i thought that it wouldnt matter much.

it looked a bit off for me, ive been researching and found that the Full HD version and mine use the 30 pin connector.

if they use the same connector, its safe to replace my screen for a full HD one?

I still have a couple years left on the onsite warranty and a couple months on the CAR, i dont know if this can be of much help.

appreciate the help, thanks

ps. sorry if this text has some errors, English is not my most perfect language.

Make sure you transfer the ownership now. Go to Dell Support in your country to transfer the warranty before making any changes. You cannot use the warranty unless you transfer the ownership and live in the same country.

You cannot change to a HD screen. The computer must be ordered with a HD screen at purchase,

when I searched for a replacement screen for this model, it would say on different websites that both non touch screens use the 30 pin connector.

I thought that it must be possible theoretically, since they both use the same connector.
