Severe SSD performance issue with Precision 7510 BIOS 1.19
I have a Precision 7510 laptop with Samsung EVO SSD's on both NVME and SATA. After updating the BIOS to 1.18 and 1.19 I am having extremely poor disk I/O performance. Downgrading to 1.17 cures the issue. Here is the benchmark results for 1.17 BIOS
Samsung 960 EVO NVMe Seq. MB/s 3144 read 1843 write Random IOPS 230468 read 213867 write
Samsung 860 EVO SATA Seq. MB/s 550 read 506 write Random IOPS 65185 read 60546 write
Now, with 1.19 BIOS
Samsung 960 EVO NVMe Seq. MB/s 2032 read 1890 write Random IOPS 52978 read 45898 write
Samsung 860 EVO SATA Seq. MB/s 562 read 532 write Random IOPS 16845 read 15380 write
This is a 4-5X performance hit and is very noticeable in application response. Please advise.
Thanks,
Mike

To private message me, you can click on my name and locate contact me on the right side of my profile page. Also, have you tried updating the SSD firmware to latest from https://bit.ly/34iFksI and see if it makes any difference in performance with the latest BIOS?
