It may or may not work -- do not try without making a full and verified backup of the existing drive (preferably a complete system image using a utility such as Macrium Reflect, etc.).
You would also want to ensure that secure boot is disabled or suspended if you use that. Otherwise, you will trigger bitlocker when moved to a new system. If you don't know your recovery key or how to get it, then you will have to reinstall Windows.
