Yes, it is. However, you'll need to replace the entire upper assembly - frame/bezel, back cover, hinges and wiring harness -- to do so.
The hardware from a touchscreen is different than that from a conventional screen.

Thanks for your reply. Do you know if there is a kit i can buy with the lcd in order to replace it or do i need to shop item by item?

Check with parts-people.com -- they will have the parts you need (or at least the part numbers).
