TPM device is not detected

Latitude 7480

Latitude 7480

Alert! TPM device is not detected.

Press F1 key to retry boot.
Press F2 key for setup utility.
Press F5 key to run onboard diagnostic.

--------------------------------------------

I get the above message every time I try to boot.  F1 works (it boots up).  Based on what I read on a different thread, I tried F2 to enter the BIOS, expand the Security section, but it does not have (or list) TPM 2.0 (or anything that resembles it).  In Windows Device Manager, "Security Devices" is not listed.

Is it possible that my laptop does not have TPM?  Could something be off with my BIOS (I've tried the "Restore Settings" to set the settings to factory setting)?  Any other suggestions?  Thanks in advance for your help!

Have you always seen that warning on the system? Also have you accessed the BIOS and looked for a setting in security labeled PTT?  Make sure that setting is enabled. However you have, I believe, a 6th generation CPU. If you are thinking about installing Windows 11 your CPU does not meet the minimum specs indicated by MS. You can install Windows 11 by bypassing the CPU and TPM requirements but you will not have TPM 2.0 (possibly TPM 1.2 though).

This laptop was not used for about 2 years.  When I tried to use it again recently, I first encountered BitLocker issue (asked for my BitLocker Key) and I found the key and then disabled it.  Then I encountered the TPM issue.  I installed all the latest Windows, drivers, etc. thinking that it might help but to no avail.  In the BIOS, in Security, it does not have "PTT" or "TPM" listed.

At this point, I am just trying to get rid of the "alert" message and not concerned about Windows 11.

In Windows Powershell, "get-tpm" shows:

TpmPreset   :  False
TpmReady   :  False
TpmEnabled  :  False

Does this mean that this laptop does not have TPM installed?
