Appears you don't have COM1 if Putty cannot open it, or another program is using COM1.

To better assist you, the members would need the exact model number of your laptop/desktop???
Identify your Dell:

In the BIOS make sure that "COM1" is enabled under Serial Port "It should be by default???"

Dans le BIOS, assurez-vous que "COM1" est activé sous Port série "Ce devrait être par défaut ???"
