Unable to setup fingerprint latitude 7280

Hello, I am facing this error in my device latitude 7280. Even I have set up Windows Hello. Anyone can help me in fixing the error?

In the support page for the 7280 I do not see a fingerprint driver available. Are you sure you have that feature on your system? Have you ever had that device working on your 7280?

In case your system does not have that feature there are alternative USB sensors available such as those at Amazon here.

Hi, I have a friend who has the same model, and his fingerprint sensor working fine but it is mine that is not working. I changed my windows many times and updated the drivers but still no improvements.

Hello,

Ok this is slightly confusing but for the fingerprint reader to work you need a driver called "Dell ControlVault2 Driver and Firmware" you can find this driver for latitude 7280 here don't ask me why dell doesn't call this "fingerprint driver" less confusing & easier.

@confuseduser43 is spot on. And so right that it is a very confusing description for the driver that I was not aware of. Old dog new tricks etc. in my case.

Hello,

I just took a look at the drivers & downloads section of latitude 7280 and selected the security category and read the detailed description of each driver it seems Dell ControlVault2 can do a lot more then recognizing fingerprints probably that is the reason for the confusing name

@lisa_nichols install the driver i linked earlier and have a look at this video in the video it is another dell model but the setup process is the same
