Webcam keeps using infrared camera in video chat

Hi, I've been borrowing this laptop for a short while now.

I noticed that the webcam keeps using a sort of infrared mode when I try to video call someone, and there are red flashing lights next to the webcam light. But when I use it to take pictures of myself normally, it just uses the normal camera.

Is there a way to fix this? Or at least turn off infrared mode?
