Dell XPS 13-9333 One Year of Use

After one year of use I am still a happy customer

For Audio and Video workflow with processing video files and exporting audio files for music production. The fan problem never went away on my machine even after upgrading the bios but with over a year of use. Adding a Cooler Master 120mm fan has helped keep my video processing 110C down to 78C even when the CPU is at 99%.

The suspend problems have still plagued me but are so random with the Ubuntu 14.04 LTS Image, its not to much of a problem as long as I remember to lock the screen or just keep the GUI open.

I must say learning hard from any sort of upgrades and updates has been learning process especially when your audio interface shuts down. But fi your smart and things are working dont update for any reason.

As I mentioned in another post with Jared Dell ,it behooves Dell Sputnik to release the latest 16.04 Image host it on torrent mirrors and even drop box with all the patches for the Sputnik project. And the Windows variants of the Dell XPS line. Especially for the customers as myself who a year ago did not have the money to buy a new machine and bought a refurb which was a windows machine. Flashing the system to a 12.04 image everything worked out of the box but with no support or ability to return the machine.

Amongst the fan issues, the wifi chip and soldered ram there is room for improvement. but all together for a work production machine which is less than 3 pounds. The Dell XPS team has impressed me, especially that I can pawn the *** out of the processor and edit video at 99% of the machine. Cheers to an awesome 2016 and hopeful easy updates any monkey can do...
