ALSA/JACK on XPS 410N?

I'm totally enthused about Dell shipping machines with Ubuntu. There is only one thing that's keeping me from ordering... I need to be able to run ALSA and JACK on this machine (I'm looking at the XPS 410N).

The sound card is specified as "integrated 7.1"... which I take to mean at least three stereo outputs on a motherboard integrated card. Are all these outputs recognized by ALSA/JACK? Will real time audio processing work (assuming I install the appropriate kernel)?

If anyone has tried this, or if Dell could give an official word on the matter, I'd really appreciate it. If not, just knowing what to look up in the compatibility matrix would be helpful.

You'll find here that the sound card on this machine is supported by ALSA via the snd_hda_intel driver. I don't know jack about Jack... IIRC, Jack is a sound server that uses ALSA for its output and will therefore support whatever ALSA supports.
