Best Distro 4 CPi D300XT?

puppy linux will definitely work, but if you want something more complete, i have a system that is running 400mhz 128 mb ram system running fedora core 2 which you can download from http://fedora.mirror.facebook.com/linux/core/2/i386/iso/.

note that fedora is not the easiest distro to learn. imo, ubuntu is the easiest to learn, so if you have no used any linux yet, i would recomend downloading ubuntu and running that as a live cd on a better computer first so you can get the hang of it. specs are the same as xp media center edition, roughly 1ghz and 512 mb ram. not sure how far back ubuntu goes but if it goes back far enough where the minimums go that low, go ahead and use it.

fedora 2 says it needs more ram, but since you don't have it, during the install you will need to format a swap partition. after it formats it, it will tell you that it needs to activate swap. let it

i think the minimums for puppy are like 200 mhz and 64 mb ram although 32 is possible with a swap file. and the neat thing about puppy is that with the amount of ram you have, you can load the image entirely into ram (puppy=toram or something like that, follow prompts) for some more added speed. have not used it on my 400 mhz machnine but did use it on a 1.5 ghz machine and had 0 reaction time for everything. you click and the programs are there before the button even pops back up
