Dell system restore partition what have you done with it?

Hi, Since i installed windows vista the restore partition does no longer work. Anyway what I want to be able to do is dual boot with linux ubuntu 7.04 the only problem is there are several partitions o and i forgot to say the media direct doesnt work either, so I was wondering has anyone been in the same situation and what have you done with the partitions I thought it might be easier to delete all the partitions and just make 2 one for linux and the other for windows.   i would love your support on this   Thanks Ben   P,S  have all the partitons on a ghost image so hopefully I should be able to restore them if i delete them is that possible? Hi, The restore partition is useless. I have deleted it. As long as Dell sent you restore Cd's, you don't need a restore partition. It only takes up your space on your hard drive for which you paid. If Dell hasn't sent you the restore Cd's for OS that you bought, call customer service and complain. The second partition can be used for Linux. Now, about Symantec Ghost image, i haven't tried that yet for dual boot systems but works great if you are just using windows. I am using Ghost 2003 because it works better then newer versions. It actually creates full restore cd's or dvd's. Toshiba is using the same software for restore cd's.

Hi, thanks for the reply I am now dual booting with ubuntu linux. I think i will delete the backup partition as dell did provide me with the cds so thats ok Thanks Ben
