Problems with Wifi Connection in Inspiron 14z

Hi ,

I just bought an Inspiron 14z ultrabook (5423). My laptop is connected to a particular wi fi network. However it keeps scanning for other networks continuously. When it detects another network (both secured and open) the connection to the network to which I am connected is lost. 

Is there anyway I can prevent it from scanning for other networks once connected to a particular network. Or is there any other way around. 

Any help would be very useful.
