Ubuntu 15.10 and 16.04 work pretty well. I've ran 15.10 on the 9343 for months and just upgraded to 16.04 (which is still in development). You won't be able to run 14.04 since you don't have our factory image however.

Note that if you have Broadcom Wireless, you also need proprietary firmware in order to make Bluetooth work.

As the drivers have been pulled from the Dell Support site (and even worse, they just removed Linux completely from the OS choice instead of adding a statement "drivers can only provided to uses eligible to pro suppor" or similar. This really was a spit you in the face move :-(((), you have to nag support and hope that they'll provide you with the files (but not sure whether you're eligible) or extract it from a windows driver yourself. (archlinux has good documentation about that)

Also make sure you have the latest wireless drivers. at least one with the fix for https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bcmwl/+bug/1415880

Thank you for the replies.  I did end up cancelling the order.  

That's a shame, since it runs fine otherwise - and you could also replace Broadcom wireless with an intel one afterwards if getting the drivers is a concern (which isn't a problem, just a little manual work as you cannot download them anymore and with the refurb you don't have it on recovery partition).

Of course if you cancelled because you want to get the Skylake DE or the 15" Precision model, then I could understand :-)
