XPS 13 9370 Ubuntu full disk encryption
Hi,
I have just received a XPS 13 9370 Ubuntu and I have some questions.
I will post one thead per question.
First question:
During the Ubuntu 18.04 configuration installation, there was no full disk encryption (LUKS) option.
From what I have understood, this shall be done during Ubuntu configuration, otherwise it seems more complicated.
Did I miss something ? Has Dell removed this option in Ubuntu installation process ?
Shall I reinstall from a Dell Recovery Ubuntu USB key so that the option is proposed ?

Hi, Looking to update also the image for my xps 7390 18.04 to get LVM.
I see the old version of dell-recovery_1.61~somerville3_all.deb in the /debs/ folder, should this stay and just upload the dell-recovery_1.62.deb version to /debs/main ?

Year is 2021, this is still an issue, you can't proceed with a OEM support installation and encrypt your disk, gg dell

Not OEM or supported, but works flawlessly on my system.

this is exactly the first thing I will be doing - wiping unencrypted Dell Ubuntu from my XPS 9310 and instsalling PopOS!
You can add the Dell repositories to get the dell specific drivers working

Hi,
I just now got a dell XPS 13 9320, and successfully re-installed the Ubuntu with full disc encryption from the dell recovery.
The only trick I used was to install the latest 1.68somerville10 deb on the system before creating the recovery USB drive (from https://github.com/dell/dell-recovery/releases/tag/1.68somerville10). With the from-factory supplied 1.68somerville8 I got stuck with a greyed out "install now" button after selecting to install fresh with LVM and encryption. I'm speculating that it might have to do with the changelist note "Fix installations on eMMC drives".
