Alien Autopsy

I had a major malfunction of my Samsung 1TB factory installed hard drive.  Nothing was recoverable.  I have been trying to download and reinstall Alien Autopsy but can't locate where to.  The "au assistant" loads but then tells me that there are no updates, confusing to say the least when AlienAutopsy is not installed on the new drive.  What can  I do?  Where can I download "successfully" a copy.

IF Dell had supplied the discs that they were going to I probably would not have a problem.

Would appreciate if some-one could please help as I don't have much hair left - pulling it out through frustration.  Pedro21

Alien Autopsy has been replaced by (updated to) Support Assist.

Are you looking for the software to diagnose and test your system or restore it?

If you want to try and get the recovery discs, you can go here:

Thanks for your response.  If I had received the discs with my replacement M17x R4 I wouldn't be having these problems.  I also see the discs are available but only to US and Canada so obviously Dell want's the rest of the world to by their products but not support them.

That off my mind a further question for you: Is Support Assist the same as Dell Backup and Recovery (which I thought was an lien Respawn upgrade).  If not where do/can I download a copy, bearing in mind I'm in Australia and Dell might not let me download a copy.

p.s.  Why is it when I do try to download a copy of AA the message comes up "no updates are available"

Thanks for your response.  Been there and see that the discs are only available the US and Canadian customers- stuff the rest of the world.  Further - see my latest post

Support Assist is just an updated Alien Autopsy. It is not a replacement for Dell Backup and Recovery. You might be able to find DBR on the support pages of the new laptops/computers. As for Respawn, you can download it as well.

As for Support Assist, searching for it on Dell's website should be enough.

You should be able to download all three of these, regardless of your region. You can find Support Assist and Respawn here (pages that say Alien Autopsy have not been updated to reflect the update it has received).
