Alienware 15 experiencing issues.
I am using the model with:
-Intel® Core™ i7 4710HQ
-NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 970M with 3GB GDDR5
-16GB Dual Channel DDR3L at 1600MHz
-15.6 inch FHD (1920 x 1080) IPS-Panel
I bought this at Best Buy. Ever since I bought it I've been experiencing some problems. I decided to wait and see if it lasts first, but it has now been going on for weeks. The first problem is very weird, this happened even when I was just setting up windows, certain keys just stop working. These are always the same keys such as r. The only way to fix this is to keep putting it to sleep until it works again.
The second problem occurred to me either when I installed the Dell Face scan program (cant remember name), or Battlefield Hardline. I set Hardline at Ultra graphics, then the computer crashed, I could still see the screen but it is frozen and I cant do anything. My computer did keep crashing when playing Hardline on Ultra for some reason, when the specs should be able to handle it. After that when logging in for the first time it has a couple seconds of a black screen, when before it was much faster. I tried uninstalled both programs, but still no success.
The third problem is that my tcp/ip stack keeps getting corrupted.
The final problem is a one time thing. This happened today, I was just listening to YouTube videos, and playing some games, and suddenly the entire computer crashed, like the second problem I could still see the screen but it is frozen and I cant do anything.

In case this could be a driver conflict or another type of software issue. We recommend you try an Alien Respawn system recovery. This will set your system to factory settings, so make sure backup your information first. Click here to view an article that explains how to run Alien Respawn. Let us know how it goes.

Hello,
For the mouse problem, try reinstalling the touchpad driver. Click here for the download link. After doing that, test to see if it happens again and if it does, test it in safe mode to check if it happens there too. For the black screen problem, try installing the latest Nvidia driver from the Nvidia site, click here for the download link.
Do a clean installation of the driver and then try to run Battlefield again. Can you please explain how you are able to determine that the TCP/IP stacks keep getting corrupted? Also, make sure you have the latest version of the Bios, click here for the Bios download link.

I have just installed the NVIDIA Drivers, and still have a solid 4-6 seconds of black screen.

I have just updated BIOS, it definitely did not fix the TCP/IP problem. I may have found the reason for the crashes though. The computer may have been using Intel Integrated Graphics to run certain games. I'll update once I figure that out.

Thanks for the quick reply. The first problem is not with the mouse but the keyboard. I know it is corrupted because it is fine after I do that resetting TCP/IP stack command. I'll update once I download latest drivers and BIOS.

Hello,
Can you confirm what shows in Device Manager under "Display Adapters"? Also, can you access the Bios with F2 or the Boot menu with F12 or do you get the black screen during this boot process? Regarding the keyboard problem, can you check if the same thing happens in safe mode?

Under Display Adapters I see Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600, and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M. I will check the other two in an moment and update. I get the black screen after typing the password and logging in for the first time on the boot. Thanks.

I dont actually know if the same thing happens in safe mode for the keyboards since it fails randomly.

A clean install of windows seem to have fixed the problems. Thanks.
