Alienware 15 r2 can't shutdown or sleep
Dell replaced the motherboard on my Alienware 15 R2 and reinstalled Windows 10. Everything works as normal except when I shut down the computer in windows 10, it shuts down and restarts again. When I put it into sleep mode it shuts off with no lights on after about 10 seconds. I updated all drivers automatically from the Dell website. The BIOS update did not work. The BIOS .exe from the Dell website shuts down my computer normally then restarts to a black screen with lights on the keyboard. I tried to update the BIOS with DOS and my computer shuts down and restarts to a black screen when I press Y to start the update. This doesn't brick the device and I have to hold the power button down the restart windows 10. I have tried to use the 4 BIOS updates offered on the Dell website for my service tag and I get the same result.

I'd say, you better call Dell Support.
you could try to fix the issue by performing the power drain. remove all the cables, battery and pull the CMOS battery if possible, than hold the power on button for like 1 min.
regarding the BIOS update: the replacement could be slightly different model. they even reinstalled Windows after replacement procedure. you would probably need different BIOS file. like i said, call Dell Support and find out what's going on.
pleas come back and tell us how you fixed the problem. it could help others at some point.
