Alienware 15. Running low fps on battery

Question

Hello. I have spent the last four hours working on this so I hope someone can help me out.

I have gone through what i think is every setting possible to allow my battery to run performance on High for plugged in and not. I have been having low fps issues for a bit now and couldn't understand why. For some magical reason i unplugged my laptop to lay down for a min and thought *** ill play a quick pvp on WoW.

The gods answered my questions and I have 162fps. So ON battery i have 45. Soon as i unplug i go to 98-162.

I don't get it. What am i doing wrong? Is it a battery issue? A charging issue?

The only thing i can think of is when i plug my charger into the computer it says plugged in NOT charging? Could a charger be causing this issue??

I assume I am. I have updated all video drivers.how do I check bios versions?

well ,don't worry it's normal, you said that when you play any game with the battery the fps are lower than when you play with the charger and it's normal .

Nvidia laptop gpus got a technology called battery boost and what it does is reduce the fps and the quality of the game while you are playing with the battery.if you want to fix it you have 2 options .

play with the charge as you should be because this laptop are design to do that

download nvidia geforce experience and change it (I'm not in windows so this evening i will do a tutorial but the process is strait forward just search something called battery boost and disable or put the fps higher(although the fps will increase the will never increase as high as the charger do due to the power needed of the gpu )
