Alienware 17 Laptop Cover & Screen Flickering
I get rapid flickering/flashing on my screen with horizontal & vertical lines. This happens randomly, and only stops when positioning the lid on a certain angle (titled back or toward the keyboard), to find a 'sweet spot'. When I find that spot, it stops instantly. A while later, it does it again (even the the cover hasn't been moved again) and I have to readjust the angle again.
Any ideas what is causing this and what's involved with fixing it? (I live in Canada, and my warranty is expired.)

Hi,
What is the revision of your Alienware 17 system? It could be a loose cable from the LCD assembly.

I haven't gotten it fixed yet :( I have figured out there are several 'sweet spots' when I open and closed the lid if I just move it in a certain position I can get it to light up. I think you are correct that it's a loose cable. Is this something I can fix myself?
