Alienware 17 r3 CPU temperatures.
Hello, I got 17 r3 with intel 6700hq cpu, and when Idle, cpu is around 50 celsius, sometimes hits even 60. When I did a benchmark test on XTU it hit 86 celsius... should I be worried?..

Hi,
The maximum temp for this model will be a 100, we recommend to do re-paste or use a cooling pad after 90. Remember that some external factors, like excessive humidity or dry air can exaggerate the effects of extreme temperatures on computer components. But 86 Celsius is fine.
Tips for Proper Usage
Using a Laptop on a hard, flat, non-cloth surface will increase airflow and reduce heat from underneath and inside the system.
Using the Laptop on blanket, pillow, or other type of cloth will cover up the fan cause the computer to overheat and can cause permanent damage.
It is recommended to use the Laptop in a Room temperature of 0°C to 35°C (32°F to 95°F) with a Humidity level no greater than 90%.
For specified environmental usage temperatures for your system refer to your User's Guide or Setup Guide
Use compressed air to clean the vents on a regular basis.
Using a cooling pad can decrease heat and increase performance.

Hello, I'd love to get some more info.. about 1 thing. The temperatures on the CPU are quickly changing... it's like.. 45... 55.. 44.. 66.. in like few seconds, obviously while idle.. Is that also fine? cause other temperatures are more like 40.. 41... 40.. 39.. smaller jumps ;o

It seems exceedingly difficult to change the paste on this model :(

Szoter,
It is normal, probably there is an app running in the background (antivirus, support-assist, ect).
