Alienware 17 R4 AlienFx lightning problem and glitching/flickering system power, also bad screen!

I have an Alienware 17 R4 with multiple peculiar issues that just recently started.

Recently, the AlienFx lightbar on the lower right hand side of the laptop (10) has been malfunctioning. It does not properly display the selected color. For example, when the red is selected via the AlienFx menu, it will display a magenta color. When the "Go Dark" option is selected, it remains lit up as blue. When green is selected, it remains lit up as a teal color.

I have checked that the color settings are indeed set to the desired colors in the AlienFx command center and that the colors are not displaying correctly. When I run the Alienware AlienFx tester the same results appear with the colors being mismatched as described above. The only time the color matches the selected setting is when it is set to the standard blue or white setting in the tester.

The other problem I have been experiencing is that while gaming, at seemingly totally random intervals, the system will "flicker" with a noticeable hitch in the audio and blacking out/flickering visual display, and the application in use will suddenly minimize and a black pop up box will appear and disappear before anything discernible is displayed. I cannot tell what is happening when this occurs and the system has so far not shut down or otherwise stopped after this random occurrence, but it is highly frustrating and totally ruining the experience. The laptop has always been plugged in during these times and always placed on a study and level surface with plenty of ventilation. I do not believe this issue had happened at all before the BIOS update a few weeks back.

Adding to all of this is the fact that I also received a unit with the 1440p display that looks plain bad. By bad I mean it has the horizontal grid/scan lines that are highly visible when playing movies, viewing the web, and gaming. They are apparently pretty much all of the time. As far as this is concerned, I have looked around a bit online and notice some posts from Alienware employees that there will be new models of replacement screens being made available sometime in March, so I will see how long I can hold out until then - but this screen has been definitely causing some definite eye strain and leading to headaches almost any time I use the machine for more than an hour straight - something I haven't experienced with any of my prior devices.

I don't know what has spontaneously caused these malfunctions, but it is highly annoying and distracting and likely not good for the hardware!

Please help! I spent a lot of money on this machine and want to have a good experience with it.
