Alienware 18 Freeze and BSOD
Hi everyone !
I received an Alienware recently (the 18). My experience was really great with this device but I'm having an issue that I can't fix.
My specs: i7 4940mx, 2x GTX 880M sli and 32 GB Ram (WIN 8.1).
My problem: When I turn on the "high performance" power plan in windows I have random freezes and bsod (WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR), they can happen at anytime, while cpu is significantly used or even with no other softwares running in the back. This issue started the first day I turned the computer on (out of the box).
On other power plans ("balanced" and "power saver") nothing happens except sometime on the "balanced" plan the Alienware 18 also freezes but it's more rare than when on "high performance".
Advice I found on Internet: the cpu is the problem because of it's low voltage (low core voltage).
I don't know what should I do. I do think it's a voltage issue but I don't know how to fix it. By the way I never modified anything (overclocking etc...) the alienware now has the same settings as out of the box.

Which AC adapter do you have?
Are you connecting the ac adapter directly to the power outlet?

I can't connect it directly to power. I have to use an adaptator because it's a swiss connector.
I tried with multiple adaptors (4) at multiple locations (on holiday, at home, at someone else's home). These adaptors works fine on other devices using the same windows configuration (power plan). But maybe it can cause problem with the alienware.
I downloaded recently the XTU to manage the CPU, I'm not sure if it works 100% well, but when I turn "Turbo Boost Short Power max Enable" on, and put a little bit more "Processor Analog IO Voltage Offset", I'm don't have any freeze or bsod.
I changed the factory settings (as mentioned above) , maybe it'll work I'll post there if i don't have any issue after doing these change.
