Alienware Aurora Questions

Hey everyone.  I bought an Alienware Aurora (R2 or R3) in 2011 I believe, and to be honest I don't know much about PCs so I have a few questions.

1.  What was the stock motherboard that came with these PCs?  I'd like to know how long they last considering they are pretty much impossible to replace in the Aurora.  Will this MoBo last me a few more years of gaming?

2.  Is the i7-3820 CPU @ 3.60 gHz any good for gaming?  Will this last me another few years on Ultra settings?

3.  Finally, will the ASUS Strix GTX 970 fit in this case?  I currently have a GTX 670 FTW.

The main reason I'm askng these questions is because I'd like to know if I should get a new PC this summer or just upgrade this one and have it last for a few more years.

This systems are design for gaming so I’m quite sure they will last for a good amount of years.

On regards to video card you can check the validated cards here; we have seen customers using newer video cards but I will recommend you to be aware of the power consumption before buying a new video card.

I currently own an Aurora R4 (2012), I guess it's not very different from R3?  Allmost the same CPU.

I just upgraded from Dual GTX670 for one GTX970 (Asus Strix).

It's like my a new life for my pc.  Performance is outstanding.
