I have a Nvidia GeForce GTX555 graphics card. Every now and then my screen blank and when it comes back on I get the message that my graphics card stopped responding and had to recover.
I have run the dell diagnostic on it and all passed. I have also got the latest drivers but still it keeps happening.
Has anyone else had this and if so do you know how to sort it out.
Thanks
Hello,
Yes, I have had that exact same problem and it was a driver.
Are you positive you have the latest driver?
I would call Alienware Tech Support and have them take a look and get this issue straightened out.
Well after re-installing the drivers it has made no diffrence what so ever. :-(
Hello Poolmaster :)
Do it again but this time do a clean install. By that I mean go into Device Manager and remove it from there. Make sure you click the delete driver check box.
Then go here and download CCleaner and run it:http://www.piriform.com/ccleanerOn the left side of the panel you will see the Registry Tab. Click it and scan for issues. When it asks if you want to make a backup say yes. Then click the fix any issues it finds. This will remove the rest of the Nvidia from the registry.
