Alienware Keyboard + iTunes

Hey all,

So I've had this problem for awhile now with the alienware tact-x keyboard, where the multimedia buttons at the top part of the keyboard don't seem to work properly with iTunes. The only time they seem to function properly is when I tab to the iTunes program, and then begin to not work when I switch to another program. The volume controls, however, do work properly and I havn't had issues with them ... probably because though it doesn't directly control the volume from iTunes.

Does anyone have a possible fix for this, so I can control my music without needing to tab to iTunes everytime? Thanks in advance.

Hello Mike

Try downloading the TactX keyboard software and reinstalling it: http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/DriverDetails/DriverFileFormats/Product/alienware-aurora?DriverId=8VM05&FileId=2898641103&urlProductCode=False

Try going into itunes, Edit, Preferences and under the Advanced tab check the last box called Full Keyboard Navigation.  You can try reinstalling itunes too.

Is your Aurora the R1? You can try this driver version for your keyboard. This time try using another USB port for the keyboard: http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/DriverDetails/DriverFileFormats/Product/alienware-aurora-r4?DriverId=5K3FM&FileId=2898573113&urlProductCode=False

You could ask over at Apple support. Sometimes they release a version that breaks the media keys and on the next version it works again. The newest version of itunes works with my keyboard media keys but I have a Logitech G19.
