"A required cd/dvd drive device driver is missing if you have a driver floppy disk cd dvd or usb flash drive please insert it now

The USB ports on the left hand side of the laptop are USB3 and will not let you install Windows from a USB device on them.

Easiest answer is to use the ports on the right hand side which are standard USB 2.0. It really is as simple as that!

Hi!

The reason you're getting that message is because you're missing a driver for the installation. Download the Intel Rapid Storage and copy the files to a USB drive. When you reach that page again, choose the option to load a driver and select the IRST from the USB. After the driver is loaded and installed, you should be able to see the partitions to install Windows.

Let me know how it goes!

Thank you very much for your help but it actually was cuz I was trying to install the ISO with a USB drive I burned the ISO to a DVD and it installed just fine ..I guess my bios dosent support USB installs ?

but anyways now I have windows 7 installed  and when I plug in any USB device it dosent pop up in windows my computer dosdnt even show a device plugged in? And it can't be that my USB ports are bad because when I tried installing windows 7 with a USB device it loaded the setup just wouldn't go all the way through

do u think I'm missing a USB driver maybe?

i really appreciate your help !

You're most likely missing some drivers. Follow the instructions on this article to install the drivers in the correct order.

I've been struggling for two hours with this error message. Since I don't have a DVD drive, I was puzzled and confused.

In my case I have an M11x-R3 and the working USB port was on the left but other than that, your solution worked perfectly.

Thanks Docstone74!!
