Alienware M17x Battery Not Charging!!

I just logged a complaint about the battery not charging with Dell and they have replaced the battery which I have fitted now. (Very quick response I might add.... thanks) The battery came with a charge of 36% which is showing up which means the battery is attached properly.

The problem is now that I am getting a message saying "the AC Adapter connected is not supported" and the Battery will not charge. It is the adapted that came with my Laptop so it is an original Dell product.

Anyone any suggestions?

(Seems hard to get tech support unless Dell recognises the problem through their standard diagnostics. Hopefully this will help).

I'd also like to add that the system has started running much slower than it was. It used to be of similar sped running 3d apps to my Alienware Desktop but it has, since this issue arisen, about slowed to 50% of that in rendering times.... that make sense?

Yes that makes complete sense, last night I saw my Inspirion 7737 dim its display out of the corner of my eye while I was on my desktop PC.  When I checked it had gone into one of the power saving modes (thus slowing everything down) because it had decided that even though the power pack was still showing a green led it had decided to cease charging from it.  I'll invesigate further tonight but looks like something has ceased to function as plugging the adapter into the machine causes it to show charging then within a few seconds go to not charging.

I've updated the bios and all drivers that dell recommended too. Still no luck.
