Alienware m17x HDMI input problems
Wanting to stream live video using the hdmi input on my new Alienware m17x. When I plug my camera to the input it goes to full screen only and will not allow me to exit to desktop unless I turn off the hdmi input. That's the first problem. Second problem is that Ustream does not receognize the hdmi input as a video source. Sounds like the driver problem but I really don't know. Please help!! thanks.

Sounds like it's just an HDMI Input that goes straight to the screen (like on a TV or monitor). You can't control it.
What camera do you have? Disconnect the HDMI. Use the USB or Firewire port on it instead ... the one that is used to download the video stored on it.

Anybody have a different suggest. I want to retain the hdmi quality with the stream. Surely there is a way to configure the driver or software to manage the input hardware...
