Alienware M18x issues; Artifacting on screen from post screen and cant load windows
Hey Guys,
I'm hoping you guys are able to help me troubleshoot my Alienware M18x. Basically what is happening is:
- I can see the alien head logo on my M18x but after post screen goes black and then doesn't load anything. I left it on and it was recycling itself and I was viewing the alienware boot screen multiple times before turning the laptop off
- I an unable to press F2 or F12 to enter bios or boot menu; it just doesn't respond or maybe it does but I am unable to see or view anything on the screen
- Before I was seeing artifacts on the screen (happens on the alienhead loading screen); I would plug the charger into the back of the laptop and I would see a flower made from artifacts on the screen but when I removed the charger the screen would go back to normal then would work fine and then freeze the entire computer.
- I've tried plugging an external monitor (DVI) and TV (via HDMI) into the laptop in-order to see and use the laptop. Unfortunately I can't see anything on either the TV or the external monitor
I honestly have no idea what to do to fix this issue because the pc is just out of warranty and knowing dell they will give me an enormous price to fix the unit. So if possible can someone on here help me out with some advice on troubleshooting because this is starting to annoy me and I'm scratching my head trying to figure out what the hell is causing all these problems.
On a side note after viewing the alienware head logo go through the posting process I did see that windows was trying to load on 1 boot but after that all I get in a black screen soon after alienhead logo. Has anyone had the same issue or problem and how did they fix it?
Please HELP!!!!!!

There could be a problem or with the hard drive or with the video card and since you are out of warranty I will recommend you to try first with another hard drive and if the issue persist then there is a big possibility that the problem is the video card.
