Alienware x51 BIOS A14 Updated - issues now after restart
Hi I have updated my bios on my Alienware after I had to do a reinstall. My Alienware x51 had a A09 BIOS. But I updated it to the latest A14... now I get the following error on restart:
Current Bios not support microcode for the CPU
Please update BIOS to the latest one
Press F1 to continue with Bios Safe Mode.
Did not have this problem before I updated the Bios - guess I should never have done that !? :(
please help.

What Intel processor is installed and is this the original factory installed processor?
If so, back-flash to A09. See if system works again. Remember, there is x51 R1 and separate R2.
Try A10, A11, etc... see how far you can go this time.
If under warranty, call Phone Support. There is a MB bricking risk, but if they help you are covered.

Been down this road a couple of times.
Do what Tesla suggested, if you can get into windows, flash straight back to A09.
Then A10, A11 and A12.
IF YOU USE A13 THE X51 WILL NOT BOOT IN UEFI - IT WILL ONLY BOOT IN LEGACY.
The A13 non boot issue can be fixed, but you need to remove the coin cell battery and reset the BIOS and then install A14
I don't even install A13 anymore, just 9,10,11,12,14
backwards flashing always carries the risk of bricking the mobo, you have a decent chance of saving this if nothing was interrupted during the initial BIOS update, but it could still happen.

Yeah I did change the processor a while back, bought it a good year ago (ebay). But it has been running in my system long before upgrading to A14... interesting that when I run the other A12 update to try roll back - I get the message that I cannot roll the BIOS back ? Any ideas...
Interestingly, just turned my system now this morning, prompt is gone ??? Wonder could it have been power issue or something. I pulled all cables out to move it last night lest it overnight - put back all this morning and no prompt ? weird. Cool but weird!?!
