Alienware X51 GTX660 Issue
Got my PC on 10 Jan 2013; similar issues as reported by other owners - good frame-rates for a while and then freezing.
Played around with the display drivers as recommended in the forum, i.e., removed/deleted display drivers.
Played Call of Duty 4 for 5 minutes before problem recurred again. About the only thing I can play is WoW in a window at 1920 x 1080 on low settings.
Tried MSI Afterburner as well and managed to play WoW on 1280 x 1024 good quality for about 30 minutes before it conked out.
Updated the BIOS to A11 & now currently on driver version 310.90

Try to check the temperatures on your system and see if the steps for this article help.

The temperature hit a high of 65 C /149 F. I'm now using EVGAPrecisionX to auto-control the GPU fans and managed to go longer in Call of Duty 4 before it starts stuttering.

The temperatures seems to be normal, you mentioned before that you try MSI Afterburner, Did you set up the VGA Fan setting to 60%?

I didn't try with MSI AB but after reading this article about EVGA (forums.geforce.com/.../how-to-monitor-your-gpu-subsystem-using-various-methods-a-quick-guide-to-help-keep-your-gpus-runnin) I managed to set the fan manually to run at 65%. Is that overkill or 60% is sufficient?
I've also moved my PC further away from the wall so that there's more space behind it now.
I managed to play my games for 5 - 10 minutes w/o any hiccups before I quit for the night; will monitor further.
