Alienware X51 USB Charging

Hi there,

Can anyone tell me if the X51 should be able to charge periperals (phones/mice) while it is off? Any help greatly appreciated.

Please test all six on the rear.

I only tried the front 2 USB on front as that seemed the most likely ports to try from a design perspective. Neither had power.

GEO147,

What were your results when plugging your phone into the two front USB and six rear USB ports when the X51 was off?

Hi Chris. I am having this issue. I have tested all the USB ports with my iphone charger while the X51 is turned off and it does not work. I tested this with the 2 USB ports at the front and the 6 USB ports at the back. This is unfortunate because I am expecting the delivery of the wireless Razer mamba mouse and it would be great if I can charge the mouse when the X51 is powered off. Is the any workaround here Chris or is this just a feature that the motherboard/X51 don't support?

I seem to be having the same problem. Any assistance would be appreciated. Hoping it can be enabled via BIOS or Windows.

I am also interested in this feature. Is 'charging via USB while turned off' an advertised feature of the X51? And, does it work?

All,

If any Alienware desktop is turned OFF, the USB ports will not charge any device.
