Aurora ALX - Active vents
I would like to know what is supposed to be the proper behavior of the active vents when shutting down the PC.
When I shut down my Aurora, the vents stay in their current position, while I would have thought that a logical behavior would be to completely close in order to block dust to enter within the case while the PC is not running.
In the command center, I have it set to the default (open when the fans exceed 50%). So when I boot my PC the morning after a night shut down, then the vents close. I find that it is quite strange, doesn't it?
Speaking of command center setting, does the fan percentage corresponds only to the cpu radiator fan or does it concern also the GPU fan? And what is the maximum RPM of the radiator fan (when it is at 100%) ? Because in the thermal controls, the fan speed is shown in RPM and not as a percentage.
Thanks!

If you let your PC sit idle a bit before you shut it down (so it cools down and the fan decreases), do the vents close? If so, I would just have the PC power itself via windows power settings after an amount of time that allows it to cool down and vents close. Sorry, don't have one of these, Dell can't seem to bother to ship it.

On my Area-51when I shut down Win7 - Thermal Controls begins its shutdown procedures - and when all of this is done - the lighting are all shut off and the Active Venting will move to a closed position.
When I first got the Area-51 it did not close the Vents and did not shut off the lighting - however it's been fine since.
As regards to the Fan percentage I think it is corresponding to the CPU radiator fan but I'm not 100% sure.

Well yeah, if I let the PC cools down, the vents close. In fact, that's what I do (manually) before shutting down the PC, to be sure the vents will be fully closed during non-use. But I would prefer they close automatically wheter or not the PC is hot when I shut it down.

Maybe my Thermal Controller does not function properly. When I shut down the PC, the lights go off, but not the vents. I'll try reinstalling the command center.
