Aurora R3 GPU Overheating

Hi, having problems with my R3, damn things been sent to be fixed 3 times now and it still overheats and turns itself off during gaming.

When I play any relatively modern game GPU 2 tries to fry itself, reaching 100 + degree temps within a few minutes. I've been using MSI Afterburner to control the fans, but even the most aggressive fan profiles seem to have no real effect.

I'm still using the crossfired HD 6870's it came with and I've seen another thread which seemed to show the cause of this problem; 

Just wondering what to do about this really. My main thought at this point is to replace the cards with a single  AMD Radeon HD 6950 or similar. Is this likely to fix my problem, create new ones or what?
